1.TORONEOS GULF CROSSING.
DISTANCE: 26KM
LOCATION: NIKITI, CHALKIDIKI , NORTHERN GREECE MAKEDONIA
By far, the most known amongst the difficult and impressive SEA marathons in Greece. It is organised every July by the municipality of NIKITI and E.E.N. SITHON. It is considered to be one of the better sea-races internationally a fact proved by the big participation of foreigner athletes. This year it will be held on the 18th of July.

2. LAKE PLASTIRA CROSSING.
DISTANCE: 5KM
LOCATION: KARDITSA, CENTRAL GREECE
An impressive LAKE marathon that shows the beauties of Greek Nature too. It is organised in August by the educative and cultural Club of the area of "Lampero"-Karditsa. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful races in Greece. The attendance of athletes is remarkably big. This year, as every year, it will be held during the 1rst Weekend of August which is the 7th & the 8th.

3. MALIAKOS GULF CROSSING.
DISTANCE: 11KM
LOCATION: RACHES, CENTRAL GREECE
A SEA marathon between the beautiful island of Evia and Fthiotida. It is organised in July by the "Echineon" municipality. It is considered to be a beautiful, yet difficult race! This year it will be held on the 16th of July. The Maliakos gulf is located between Evia and Fthiotida and is connected both, to the north and to the south to the Aegean Sea. The access to the location of "Raches" of the Echineon municipality is easy, as the National Road Athens - Thessalonica passes right by the starting point..

4. LAKE TRICHONIDA CROSSING.
DISTANCE: 16KM
LOCATION:
International LAKE swimming marathon of high difficulty. It is one of the most well organised ones! It is organised by the "Thestieon" municipality and the athletic association "DOXA" - Kenourgiou. This year the 5th annual race will be held on the 22nd of August and simultaneously the 2nd 3KM swim race for handicapped individuals (disabled persons) will take place for.

5. INTERNATIONAL RACE OF WINTRY SWIMMING OF "NEI EPIVATES" COAST.
DISTANCE: 1KM
LOCATION: PALIRRIA, THESSALONIKI, NOTHERN GREECE MAKEDONIA.
This year, the 3nd international SEA race was held on the 15th of January 2005 at 12.00 p.m. (water temp.9.0°C). It's a very well organised, by the seaside, sprint race that usually takes place the first 15 days of January. The only, up to this date, below 10 Degrees Celsius Winter Sea race (depending on the environmental and sea temperature at the time). Was successfully organised both times from
"Palirria L.T.D." for the development of Greek coasts,the Thermaikos ( NEI EPIVATES) Municipality and the Prefecture of Thessaloniki.

6. WINTRY SEA RACE, MIAOYLIA.
DISTANCE 3,5 KM.
LOCATION: MESSOLOGGI, CENTRAL-WEST GREECE.
A new SEA race in beautiful Mesologgj. Was held last year in Sunday of 28 March 2004. The race took place to honor the National hero "Miaoulis" whose statue was presented that day. It was organised by the municipality of Mesologgi.It was provided to all participants hospitality for one day and 2 dinners Saturday and Sunday. It is race of 3,5 kilometres in temperature of water from 15 - 18 degrees.

7. HYPER-MARATHON 24 HOURS OUTDOOR POOL SWIMMING, "IASONAS ZIRGANOS"
LOCATION: THESSALONIKI NOTHERN GREECE MAKEDONIA.
The most difficult and impressive marathon of outdoor POOL swimming in Greece that is realised every 2 years in Thessalonica. It is held to honour the first Greek swimmer ever to cross The Chennel, Iasonas Zirganos. The athletes that take part have to swim for 24 hours in a 50m swimming-pool while the total rest in between can not exceed the 3 hours. The effort to the limits, the passion, the force, the resistance are the acquired skills for one to make it finish. The race starts Saturday 12 p.m. and ends Sunday 12 p.m. AT "Ethniko" swimming pool. Many happenings and side events take place such as the relay of disabled swimmers.

8. OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING MARATHON OF MESSINIAKOS GULF.
DISTANCE: 30KM
LOCATION: SOUTH PELOPONNESUS
It is the biggest SEA marathon in Greece and it is realized in Kalamata each year. It is the crossing of the Messiniakos Gulf of total distance 30hlm.It is an official event of the calendar of the Greek Swimming Federation (E.K.O.F.). Departure from the Municipality of Koronis and finish at the town of Kalamata, in front of the installations of the Naval Club Kalamata. This year the 17th race will be held on the 3rd of September 2005.

9. INTERNATIONAL WINTRY SEA RACE "MENTOR". DISTANCE :5,5KM.
LOCATION : KEPHALONIA - IONIAN ISLANDS (WEST GREECE).
The 2nd international SEA race was held this year with a big success on the 6th of January 2005 at the gulf of Kephalonia with starting and finishing point at the Port Lixouri. The 1st one was held January 2004.
A race of low temperatures, but of warm atmosphere as all visitors and athletes of both years declared.
The beauties of Kephalonia island (guided tour is included) and the successful, so far, efforts of the Municipality of Lixouri as well as the Municipal athletic enterprises of Paliki, guarantee a successful race.

10. NATIONAL VETERAN INDOOR SWIMMING RACE . DISTANCES: Selected events of all four swimming styles. LOCATION: Poseidonio Swimming Pool, THESSALONIKI NOTHERN GREECE MAKEDONIA.
It was organized two years on the row, November 2003 and November 2004 by the Committee of Swimming of Central-West Macedonia and the 5th Municipal Department.
